There are some procedures to be completed before taking a dead body into cargo flights
1. Dead Body Condition: The Dead body must be embalmed and should be packed in a coffin box which is done by VMEDO Ambulance. This service is also done by some well-known Hospitals and Medical Science Institutes.
2. Flight Ticket: Book your flight ticket at least 7-8 hours before your departure. So that there is an adequate amount of time remaining for body embalming, sealing in the Coffin box and other required documents to get it done and keep in mind that you must report at least 3 hours before the actual flight time.
Documents required to transport dead body by air:
1. Death Certificate from respective hospital/ medical authority.
2. Original Passport of the deceased person or photocopy of canceled passport.
3. Original Embalming and Packaging Certificate that should include deceased’s full name, age, place of death issued by the Embassy.
4. NOC from local police where death has occurred (Police STAMP is Mandatory)
5. Post-mortem Report.
6. PNR flight number of the co-passenger.
7. Coffin certificate.
8. 1 passport size photo.
